Pain Free Pregnancy Coding

Pain Free Pregnancy Coding reviews the common ICD-10-CM/PCS coding scenarios in the inpatient facility setting.  In this session we will review the Pregnancy Coding Guidelines and General rules.  In this, we will discuss the complications of labor and delivery, fetal conditions affecting management of pregnancy, abortion coding guidelines and coding tips, and much more.  We will review several case scenarios throughout the presentation to assist in accurate code assignments of pregnancy diagnosis and procedures focusing on both ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes. 

Objectives:  This session will provide coding education on the following areas for pregnancy coding: 

• Selection of Principal Diagnosis
• Fetal Conditions Affecting Management of Pregnancy
• Complications of Labor and Delivery
• Other Conditions Complicating Pregnancy, Childbirth, or the Puerperium
• Postpartum Complications
• Elective & Spontaneous Abortions
• Obstetric Procedures & Procedures Assisting Delivery
• Sequalae of Complications of Pregnancy, Childbirth or the Puerperium
