Job Description: Under supervision of the Coding Manager or designee, the X Claim Coder is responsible for resolving code related Claim Trust (outpatient) errors identified by a code editor. This position is responsible for assisting the Technical Advisor to identify root causes to move the resolutions of errors to the tront-end operational areas. Utilizes available online and/or paper documentation and OP Coding guidelines to identify appropriate ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS, and related modifier and revenue codes to meet Medicare OCE/CCI requirements. Researches regulations to ensure accuracy of coding and discusses with Technical Advisor and/or Coding Manager. Prepares appropriate reports for meeting presentation. Proactively practices departmental and hospital confidentiality policies and procedures.
