Job Description: At the direction of the Privacy Manager, this position will independently assume responsibility for the supervision and coordination of daily activities for the Release of Information team. The Supervisor will problem-solve to ensure that requests are answered within established time frames as well as assume responsibility for the review and processing of requests to the ROI section. This position will also maintain various electronic systems as they related to ROI tasks, function as a resource to ROI staff members and other DHMC staff, and develop and manage ROI personnel. Requirements: Associates degree with 3 years of combined medical records and supervisory experience, or the equivalent in education and experience required. The ideal candidate must possess strong knowledge about release of information, HIPAA, State and Federal privacy laws, and have strong interpersonal and supervisory skills to oversee a staff of 7 people. Credentials in HIM strongly desired (RHIA or RHIT preferred).
