Job Description: The Director of Health Information Management plans the objectives of the Health Information Management Department. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, plans objectives for development, processing, retention and retrieval of health information, provides coordination of accurate and complete medical records, and supervision of other members in the department. Coordinates activities with the medical staff, administration, committees, and other departments to meet the requirements of accrediting bodies. Requirements: RHIT or RHIA with 5-7 years of management responsibility in a health information department; knowledge of Joint Commission Standards, state and federal regulations pertaining to medical records.
