Awards Committee
Review nominations for selection criteria & participates in the presentation of MaHIMA Awards. Categories of Awards include: Distinguished Member, Professional Achievement, Outstanding New Professional, HIM Innovation Award, Champion Award, Outreach & Advocacy Award, Legislator of the Year Award, HIM Advocacy Award, Student Achievement Award, and Retirees.

Coding Committee
The Coding Committee serves as a resource to members on issues related to coding and reimbursement. The Committee oversees the Coding Roundtable Committee and organizes seminars with a focus on clinical and regulatory updates.

Coding Roundtable
The Coding Roundtable provides a forum for members and non-members to address coding issues and refer unresolved coding issues to the Society for Clinical Coding. The Coding Roundtable offers half-day sessions typically hosted by local institutional/organizational member facilities.

Communication Committee
Oversees the public communication of the association including: any public relations, MaHIMA Connect, web site, MaHIMA CoP.

MaHIMA’s quarterly electronic news journal with features, best practices and “in the news” about the HIM profession. e-Alert, a periodic newsletter providing essential information that just can not wait.

Education Program Leaders

Finance Committee
Reviews the financial status of the association and provides financial goals and recommendations. Reviews draft budget before presentation to full membership. This committee consists only of the Board of Directors including President, President Elect, Past President, Former President and Administrative Coordinator

Legislative Affairs Committee

Nominating Committee
This five member committee solicits nominees for the annual MaHIMA ballot and seeks candidates for AHIMA elections. Chair: Julie Irons, MBA, RHIA jirons@quadramed.com
Planning Committe
Provides an operations assessment and strategic planning to the membership. Any bylaw changes are presented for this committee for input before going to general membership. Members include: President, President Elect, Past President, Directors, and Administrative Coordinator)

Public Relations Subcommittee
