Certification Scholarship
MaHIMA offers a Certification Scholarship designed to encourage HIM professionals by helping to defray the cost of certification examinations. Any member of Massachusetts HIMA who has taken and passed one of the AHIMA sponsored certification programs is eligible to apply. The Certification Scholarship provides partial funding for sixteen certification tests per year (four per quarter). The $100 scholarships will be awarded on a first-come-first-awarded basis.
The certification exams include:
- Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P)
- Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS)
- Certified Health Data Analysts (CHDA)
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
